6th Solihull Spitfire Beavers

About us

We are a long-established colony of Beaver Scouts, the youngest part of the Scouting Organisation. We accept boys and girls between between the ages of 6 and 8. We are part of 6th Solihull Scout Group, which also contains Cubs and Scouts. We have a vibrant and engaging leader team who devote time and effort to devising and running fun activities for the Beavers.

Activities

We meet for an hour every week, and in this time the Beavers enjoy a range of fun and educational activities and games. Here are some examples from the last term:

Of course, there is also lots of running around playing exciting games such as Corners, Beans and North, South, East, West.

Badges

One of the things that the beavers love to do is collect badges. There are three main types of badges, challenge, activity and staged activity. Although we do some activity badges at the weekly gatherings, these can also be worked towards at home. The beavers will generally work towards challenge badges in the weekly sessions, and once a beaver has collected all six challenge badges, they may start to work towards their bronze award, the highest achievement a beaver can attain. For more information on available badges and the requirements for them, please visit scouts.org.uk

Group Camp

Possibly the most exciting part of Scouting is going on camp. Every year, the Beavers go to the 6th Solihull Group Camp for a day and take part in a range of activities including:
